"A Vermont Bed & Breakfast Inn as you always dreamed it would be —
Candlelight breakfasts, stained glass, hot tub under the stars..."

The Innkeepers

Jackie and Allan Arbuckle purchased the May Farm Bed & Breakfast in February 2006 thus fulfilling the repressed thoughts and yearnings of many years to own an inn. They bring over eighty years experience in service and business management to their new endeavor.

For over thirty years Jackie was an RN specializing in hospice, mental health and geriatrics. She was the founder and executive director of the first hospice home in New England, and the first of its kind in the nation. A mid-life career switch combined her two loves of teaching and gardening to work in the training department for the country’s largest mail order and internet supplier of gardening tools, supplies, and accessories. On the way she obtained her Master Horticulturist certificate and spent a brief stint as the executive director of a botanical garden. She also has a MEd. in Administration, and is an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church.

Allan has spent over forty years in accounting and finance, mostly in the public or non-profit sector serving in positions of hospital controller, hospital administrator, treasurer and administrator of an Episcopal diocese and business manager and controller for a municipal utility. He has also maintained a private accounting and consulting practice and served on the adjunct faculty of several institutions of higher learning. He holds a MBA as well as a BSBA.

The self-appointed social directors at May Farm B&B are Cinder, a 6-year old (going on 2-years) Black Lab and a 10-year old Shepherd-Collie mix named Lili. Lili is the mellow, quiet type (Cinder definitely is not) but is learning to assert herself for her share of attention. After food their major passion in life is greeting all the wonderful guests at May Farm.

The major domo at May Farm is Diva (short for Godiva) a mostly (if not full-blooded) Maine Coon cat. Diva is friendly and likes attention but being CAT accepts it only on her terms.

Jackie and Allan invite you to tour the May Farm website and look forward to meeting you in person.
